The Language of the Orishas
A Complete Immersion into the Spiritual Foundations of Sacred Umbanda
There is no other course like this one.
The Language of the Orishas is the first and only deep-immersion program in Sacred Umbanda theology taught entirely in English — designed not as an introduction, but as a genuine intellectual and spiritual journey into one of the most sophisticated ancestral traditions on earth.
This is not a crash course. It is not a weekend workshop. It is a structured, rigorous, and profoundly transformative program that brings together Afro-Brazilian spiritual theology, comparative philosophy, and the science of consciousness — in a format built for serious students who are ready to go deep.
What This Course Actually Is
Across 14 recorded modules and 10 live sessions for exchange, questions, and collective reflection, we move through the complete architecture of Sacred Umbanda: its cosmology, its ethics, its guides, its altars, and the invisible forces that sustain this living tradition.
The foundation is Rubens Saraceni's channeled theology of Sacred Umbanda, interpreted and taught through the lens of Alexandre Cumino's rigorous theological research — and brought into dialogue with Western philosophy, depth psychology, anthropology, and systems thinking.
Umbanda is a sacred language. A living system of energies, symbols, and ancestral wisdom rooted in rhythm, intuition, and cosmological precision. In this course, you will learn to read it — not as an outsider studying a foreign culture, but as someone reclaiming a way of understanding the world that your rational mind was never taught to access.
Theory Meets Practice: A Fully Embodied Journey
This is where The Language of the Orishas goes beyond any other program in its field.
Understanding the theology is essential — but Umbanda is not a tradition you learn only with your mind. It is a tradition you learn with your hands, your body, your altar, and your daily life. That is why this course is built around both dimensions equally.
Throughout the program, you will work directly with the practices that bring the theology to life:
Spiritual baths and cleansing rituals — learning the energetic logic behind each herb, mineral, and element, and how to prepare and use them with intention and precision. These are not symbolic gestures. They are functional technologies for clearing, protecting, and realigning your energy field.
Offerings and altar work — understanding what an offering actually does on an energetic level, how to construct and tend a sacred altar, and how to engage with the Orishas through physical elements and deliberate ritual. You will learn not just the what, but the why behind every element placed and every intention set.
Mediumship and incorporation practices — developing your sensitivity to spiritual presence, understanding the different forms of mediumistic connection, and learning how to work with your guides in a grounded, ethical, and structurally sound way. This is perhaps the most intimate dimension of the course — and the one that changes practitioners most deeply.
Each practice is taught within its full theological context — so you understand not just how to do it, but why it works, and what forces you are engaging when you do.
Who This Course Is For
This program is designed for a specific kind of student. Not everyone is ready for it — and that is intentional.
This course is for you if:
You feel a genuine and persistent call toward Umbanda, the Orishas, or Afro-diasporic spirituality — and you want to understand it with depth and integrity, not just surface familiarity
You are already on a spiritual path and sense that something essential is still missing — a framework that honors both the sacred and the intelligent
You work as a healer, therapist, counselor, artist, or educator and want to integrate ancestral wisdom into the way you understand human experience
You are a practitioner or student of another tradition — meditation, yoga, Candomblé, Spiritism, indigenous practices — and want to expand your cosmological vocabulary
You are intellectually curious and spiritually serious, and you refuse to choose between rigorous thinking and genuine devotion
This course is not for you if:
You are looking for a quick overview or a casual introduction
You are not prepared to engage with philosophical depth, theological complexity, or the personal transformation that serious spiritual study inevitably brings
What You Will Walk Away With
By the end of this journey, you will have more than knowledge. You will have a new way of seeing — and a new way of doing.
You will understand the cosmological structure of Sacred Umbanda: the nine lines, the Orisha forces, the spiritual guides, and the energetic laws that govern existence. You will be able to recognize the invisible patterns shaping your emotions, your relationships, your challenges, and your gifts. You will know how to prepare a spiritual bath, tend an altar, make an offering, and develop your mediumistic sensitivity — all within a theologically grounded framework that gives every practice its full meaning.
This course is a path of remembrance. Of realignment. Of reclaiming a language that was always yours to speak.
The requirements:
The Language of the Orishas represents a significant commitment — in time, in presence, and in resources. This is by design. Depth requires devotion. Transformation requires skin in the game.
The program runs across several months, combining self-paced recorded modules with live sessions that create real community and real dialogue. You will not be studying alone.
Cohort 2 begins with a live session on May 17th.
