The Shadow Has Been Waiting
From childhood, we are conditioned to chase only the light. To hide our vulnerabilities, our fears, our rage, our impulses in the darkest corner of our minds. We believe that ignoring these denser frequencies keeps us safe. What it actually does is drain our vital energy and feed the one enemy we cannot outrun — the internal resistance that lives exclusively on our own fear.
Therapy named it. Meditation acknowledged it. Neither one had the technology to move it.
The Left Side of Umbanda does.
The Left Side Is Not What You Were Told
In Umbanda's cosmology, Olorum is the supreme divinity — the source of all creation, all life, all force. Within that vast architecture, the Left Side does not operate in opposition to the light. It is its complement. The other pole of an organic whole that cannot function without both.
The Exus and Pombagiras who move through these denser vibrational frequencies are not demons. They are guardians — of crossroads, of justice, of transformation. They operate under the law of cause and effect with a precision that neither rewards passivity nor tolerates self-deception. They demand accountability. And in that demand, they offer something most spiritual paths quietly avoid: the unvarnished truth about where your energy is actually going, and why.
The association between these forces and danger was not discovered. It was constructed — historically and deliberately — by traditions that needed African sacred knowledge to be feared rather than accessed. When you look at the actual cosmological function of Exu and Pombagira, what you find is almost the opposite of what you were taught.
Working with the Left Side is not dangerous. Continuing to avoid it is.
This Course Is Not For Everyone
This is not for the spiritually curious. It is not a survey of Afro-Brazilian mythology or an introduction to Umbanda concepts.

How It Works
This is not a course you watch. It is a course you do.
The journey unfolds over several intensive weeks — each one building on the last, each practice activating what the previous one prepared.
Week one, you build the framework. Rigorous cosmological knowledge replaces amateur mysticism. You will understand the philosophy and technique of the Left-Side entities with the depth and precision they actually deserve — not as folklore, but as a living system of forces you are about to work with directly.
Week two, you enter the practice. You will receive exact, step-by-step instructions for performing ritual rites focused on intentional action. Each practice purifies your environment and fortifies your path. Hands on!
What happens after that depends entirely on what you are willing to meet.
A live online reflection session creates a high-caliber, safe space to integrate what has been activated, exchange with the community of practice, and ask the questions that only surface once you've actually done the work. And one-on-one mentorship is available throughout — because transformation rarely arrives on schedule, and what surfaces during this work does not always wait for the next session.
Your Facilitator
You will be guided by Ju of Obaluaê — Sacred Umbanda Priestess consecrated at Colegio Pena Branca in São Paulo, initiated Fire Alchemist, Alchemist of Exu under Fatima Saraceni, and Iyanifa of the Yoruba tradition. With over twenty years of uninterrupted mediumistic practice in Umbanda and Umbandaime, she brings you the technical precision and empirical wisdom of someone who lives it.
Her teaching does not center itself. It centers your urgency — the need for mastery, for protection, for a framework strong enough to hold what you are actually carrying.
